ABSTRACT

Since the introduction of API CJ-4, and now API CK-4 products, we have been developing products with less than 1% sulfated ash. As a result, expect to see a reduction in used oil TBN while the performance of the oil and drain intervals are equal or better than previous products. In this discussion, you will learn why TBN should not be as much a concern in used oil analysis with new generation oils.
